Children’s diseases of parodentium mostly proceed in a form of gingivitis, gum inflammation.
Factors, which promote children’s gingivitis:
- Insufficient oral hygiene (it is the most often reason of gum inflammation development
- Multiple decay cavities;
- Sharp edges of damaged milk and permanent teeth;
- Anomalies, deformation of dentition and separate teeth;
- Often gum mechanical traumas (with a toothbrush, hard meal).
Signs of children’s gingivitis:
- bleeding gums at teeth brushing and meal biting;
- gum hyperemia and swelling;
- soft plaque on teeth and/or dental calculus;
- bad breath.

How can you prevent appearance of children’s gingivitis?
- teaching correct oral hygiene;
- teeth brushing twice a day under parents’ control (in the morning and in the evening, after meal);
- use of a tooth brush, recommended by a dentist;
- use of additional hygiene products (mouthwash, floss and interdental brushes), recommended by a dentist;
- dentist appointment at least one time in half a year;
- balanced and reasonable nutrition;
- healthy lifestyle (body conditioning, quitting harmful habits and their forming preventing measures).
